CSU Couple Finds Calling in Northern Malawi 

For more than 20 years Carol (B.A., ’67) and Jim Nussbaumer (B.S., ’67; M.S., ’78; M.S., ’92) have traveled to Embangweni, Malawi for weeks at a time, to reunite with friends, plug into purposeful work, and witness the steady transformation of a community. That the couple ever made their way from Colorado to Malawi is kind of a miracle.

Recent graduates have dealt with many workplace changes; among the most profound are those print journalists face. Monique Antonette Lewis (B.A., ’04) has navigated the dramatically changing journalism landscape successfully, landing in the southwestern suburbs of Paris.

Rudy Carey (B.A., ’74) has spent 42 years coaching basketball and inspiring young men to be successful, not only on the court but in life. His own success has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Rob (B.S., ’76) and Linda Hoffman (CERT., ’76) are proud Life Members of the CSU Alumni Association. Rob explains, “We think a lot of CSU, so when someone from the Alumni Association reached out, we signed up!” He also is part of a CSU legacy family.
