Michael Henry (B.S. ’03) and Kathryn Bulger (B.A., ’06) knew each other in passing when they attended Colorado State University, and reunited years later to begin a journey together that has taken them all over the U.S. and Europe.
No red carpet, no tuxedos, no grand auditorium filled with stars. Just an email with the subject line, “2019 Masters Emmy.” That’s how Duncan Richards (B.A. Journalism, ’17) learned the 12-member crew from Game Creek Video had won an Emmy Award for their remote television production of the 2019 Masters Golf Tournament.
Billie Moe Crouse (B.A., ’62) overcame struggles with dyslexia and recently published a book about her father. Committed to helping others with similar challenges, she and her husband established a scholarship for students with learning disabilities.

While an English major at CSU, John Barnhardt (B.A., ’96) had a “sweet bar-backing job” at Lucky Joe’s. He and fellow employee Kevin Kirchner (B.A.,’97) spent hours talking about movies, shooting film, and film careers. Several decades and Emmys later, John has returned to Fort Collins to use his skills in the local community.

Graphic designer Ron Miriello (B.F.A., ’75) moved to San Diego and, in 1982, founded a very successful business, Miriello Grafico, Inc. Even more profound than his clients’ satisfaction, however, is his creation of community through a process called “design thinking.”
