Becoming Expert by Doing

Megan Larson (B.F.A., ’08) and her husband Miles (B.S., ’20), better known as “Mick,” were born in Choteau, Montana, a town of about 1500 people. Her journey to award-winning business owner in Northern Colorado is about making the most of every opportunity, working hard, and helping others.

Transforming Technical Education

Scott Burke (B.S., ’01; M.S., ’07) has had an extraordinary career. He teaches vocational education in public high school and created and runs an award-winning consulting firm that's transforming technical education.

Culture, Heritage, and Community

The CSU Alumni Association’s Albert C. Yates Student Leadership Award is given to a student who demonstrates strong involvement, leadership, and a commitment to upholding CSU’s values, traditions, and spirit. This year’s recipient, Alanis Hernandez, is a truly extraordinary young woman, a first-generation student who is deeply committed to her cultural heritage and to helping others succeed and appreciate diversity.

Member Spotlight: Ram Pride, It’s a Family Affair

Green and gold run deep in the veins of the Heap family: Matt (B.A., ’94) and Beth (B.S., ’93) Heap fell in love on campus, are Lifetime Alumni Association Members, and their daughter, Taylor (B.S., ’22), represents the third generation to attend Colorado State University. The family's Ram Pride will culminate on May 13 when they kick-off Commencement by ringing the Old Main Bell.
