CSU Alumni Stories

Coach Derrick Stevens Finds His Flow

Derrick Stevens (B.A., ’04) knows a thing or two about CSU history. He lived it as point guard in the legendary basketball team that upset the University of Nevada with a magical 62-61 win in the 2003 Mountain West Tournament. Now, he’s creating history again by coaching former Rams in the national “TBT” basketball tournament.

Remembering an Extraordinary Ram

Michael Corke (B.A., ’88; M.S., ’03) passed away in June of 2020 after a valiant decades-long struggle with sickle cell anemia. His fraternity brothers have ensured that he will be remembered by creating the Michael Corke Phi Beta Sigma Memorial Award, which will be given to individuals who participate in CSU's student athlete internship program.
