Whether it’s the bonfire, a picture with CAM the Ram, or honoring our distinguished alumni, there is a CSU Homecoming tradition for everyone. So many that sometimes it can be hard to choose. That didn’t stop us from asking Rams what their favorite tradition is.
Now in its 99th year, the Painting of the A remains one of the most cherished CSU traditions that helps alumni, and the entire Fort Collins community, stay connected and get excited for a new school year.
A tiny spiral-bound booklet, 1946-47 Colorado A&M Frosh Bible, recently came into our possession. Its purpose was to introduce “the class of ’50 to Aggie life, policies, ideals, and spirit.” Flipping through the pages of this booklet reminds us of how much has changed in the last two-thirds of a century as well as those things that have endured.
From a Model T and ROTC sword to a milk jug and Aggie letter jacket, the artifacts on display in the Iris & Michael Smith Alumni Center have fascinating stories to tell.
