In the fall of 2017, Colorado State University’s Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering welcomed its first class of Scott Scholars – a select group of undergraduate engineering students who had demonstrated exceptional academic and intellectual promise.
These students’ time at CSU was made possible through a $53.3 million gift from Walter Scott, Jr., an alumnus of the college that now bears his name, and whose dedication and generosity to generations of engineering students is unmatched. Scott’s gift – the largest in CSU’s history – also included support for Walter Scott, Jr. Fellowships, which provide funds to graduate students in engineering disciplines.
Along with the rest of the Class of 2021, the first graduating class of Scott Scholars will leave CSU with a world-class education, and a grit and determination to make positive changes in their corners of the world.
