Bart Deming (B.S., ’96) jumped at the opportunity to work on the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project in 2012. Ten years later, he holds the top job, and with the help of numerous CSU alumni, is committed to successfully completing the $1.5 billion-plus water system by 2029.
Former Vice President of Diversity, Mary Ontiveros, was an alumna whose 45-year career was dedicated to ensuring CSU aspired to its land-grant mission of access and inclusion as boldly as possible.
From a degree in technical journalism to becoming an urban farmer, Anica Wong (B.S., ’08) has put her skills to work in unexpected ways and produced a bumper crop of results.
In 2014, Diana Hall (M.B.A., ’07) founded ActivArmor, a company that makes hygienic, custom-fitted casts and splints from recyclable ABS plastic, after seeing the problems associated with traditional materials. Her innovative products are now being worn by NFL football players and Olympic athletes in the United States and around the world.
Pets are beloved the world over, and as the people of Ukraine continue to be displaced or flee the Russian invasion, their pets go with them. Jon Geller (D.V.M., ’95), who founded the Street Dog Coalition, which cares for the pets of the homeless in America, has been part of an international effort to keep pets and their owners united and is now attempting to rescue pets inside the war-ravaged country.
Great things happen when like minds come together. Kristie (B.S., ’82) and Jim Docheff, Jr. (B.S., ’83) are working to ensure a successful venture that seven alumni began at the Holiday Bowl in 1997 continues to shape the leaders of tomorrow.
For the past 40 years, Kevin Keefe (B.S., ’81) has given back – it is a family value that was instilled in him growing up in eastern Colorado. As a cherished member of the CSU community, he has touched countless lives, especially students in the Fostering Success Program.

Linda (Morgan) Meserve (B.S., ’86) has had a distinguished, 31-year career in Colorado State University’s Procurement Services, eventually being named chief procurement officer emerita. She got there by
consistently overcome obstacles — whether learning to swim at an early age or proving herself in a male-dominated field — and she and the University are better for it.
Karen (B.S., ’80) and Randy (B.S., ’80) Blach are part of an extended family of more than 80 people who have attended Colorado State University. Although they have set the bar high for relatives who follow, they gladly welcome the next generation and see a bright future for CSU and its influential role in agriculture.
