The recipient of this year’s Albert C. Yates Student Leadership Award, Ally Murphy Pauletto (B.A., ’21; B.S., ’21), has left her mark on athletic record books, campus organizations and activities, and the memories of those with whom she interacted.
Alumnus Tim O’Hara and his friend, Lori Joseph, turned the tragedy of Colorado wildfires into inspiration for a wonderfully generous creative endeavor.
Ebenezer “Eb” Yebuah (B.S., ’12; M.S., ’14) is also known as Mawule, which means “Only God Knows” in the Ewe tribe of Ghana. He is a singer, recording artist, songwriter, and social activist. Born in Accra, Ghana, Mawule and his family moved to Denver when he was 10. He started singing in church choirs at the age of 14 and writing music soon thereafter.
Kevin Keefe (B.S., ’81) is a Life Member of the CSU Alumni Association as well as a generous donor to campus programs. He also volunteers at many campus activities.
Alumni become attached to Colorado State University for a variety of reasons. For one couple, it had to do with beginnings and relationships.
Dr. Tim McCarthy (B.S., ’67; D.V.M., ’69; Ph.D., ’81) has traveled across the United States and to various other parts of the world during his career. Along the way, he changed how veterinary medicine is practiced.
These Alumni Association Life Members have been season ticket holders for CSU football, volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball for decades.
Imagine the excitement of being part of the NASA Twins Study, researching health effects due to extended time spent in space, while a student at CSU. Jared Luxton (Ph.D., ’20) not only participated in this and other groundbreaking research projects, he became so skilled at working with large data sets that it launched him on a wonderful career path.
Our alumni hold special memories of their time on campus. What Ohio State assistant head coach and running-back coach Tony Alford (B.A., ’92) remembers most fondly is the relationships he developed with people on campus and the roles those individuals played in his life.
Very few individuals land their dream job when they are 23 years old. Former CSU sports information director Gary Ozzello did, staying in that role 35 years and becoming a Ram legend.
